Our Services

We assist you with:

Empathy

Economy

Experience

1 – empathy. Losing a relative or close friend is one of the most distressing things that can happen. We know this, we have been through it many times, and we are on your side.

2 – economy. A eulogy should be a fitting tribute to the deceased, and free from waffle. Equally it should not be just a chronological history of one person’s path from birth onwards.  We promise not to waste words, and to make the tribute meaningful.

3 – experience. Our lead is Hamish Cardno who trained and worked as a journalist in Scotland before moving South. After 10 years with a major magazine, latterly as deputy editor, he went into public relations. From there he moved to event and corporate video production, and has written hundreds of speeches, scripts and project pitches. During the Covid lockdown he qualified as a funeral celebrant.

Standard Service

We will discuss with you the length of eulogy required (usually 5 - 10 minutes), and then research the life of the deceased with you and friends, if appropriate, to get a full picture of his or her character.

We will email a draft for approval and make modifications if required until you are satisfied you have a fitting tribute you are happy to deliver.

Intermediate Service

We will follow the same procedure as the “Standard Service” and rehearse you either on-line or - depending on location - in person. This will include passing on experience of public speaking: preparation, timing, breathing, and audience interaction.

If you have never spoken in public this should give you confidence and poise.

Advanced Service

Where there are multiple speakers - perhaps several children of the deceased - making their contribution to the service, we can tailor the sections and words to suit each one. We can rehearse them on-line, or depending on location, in person.

We can supply a modified version of the eulogy for publication as an obituary, perhaps in your local paper, or parish magazine.
